Nous sommes tard dans la nuit ,je suis au volant de mon petit 4x4,à côté de moi, ma petite fille, nous voyageons en direction du nord, la route est calme…Quand soudain fait irruption une étrange forme devant moi, une embardée, je l’évite de justesse mais je perd le contrôle de mon véhicule et je bute contre quelque chose…Sous le choc, ma tête percute le volant et je sombre dans l’inconscience…

Après je ne sait combien de temps, je reprends conscience…Je regarde à droite et à gauche, ma fille n ‘est plus là, la portière est ouverte et au dehors une brume épaisse empêche de voir à plus de quelques pas…Cheryl, il faut que je la retrouve !…Je sors de ma voiture et là, au bout de la rue, je l’aperçois…Cheryl attends moi !…Mais elle disparaît encore…Il me faut la suivre ,je ne veut pas la perdre !…J’entends des grognements dans la brume, ma pauvre Cheryl, elle doit avoir peur, il faut que je la protége…Je cours à toute vitesse et finit par passer une grille…Il fait sombre…Mon briquet, je l’ai dans la poche…Mais quel est cet horrible endroit, les murs et le sol sont recouvert de sang !!!…
Je réalise que je ne suis pas seul, que sont ces choses ?, elles bougent vite !…elle…elle m’attaque mais je ne peut pas me défendre…Que faire ?,je cours mais je n’arrive pas à leur échapper, ils sont toujours plus nombreux…Comment leur échapper ?, je dois sauver Cheryl !…Je tombe, il m’ont salement touché…J’essaye de me relever mais la douleur est trop intense, ma vue se trouble…Cheryl…n’ai pas peur…papa…arrive…
Je m’appelle Harry Mason…et ceci n’est que le début de mon histoire…

Un scénario effrayant…

La grande innovation apportée par Silent Hill par rapport aux Resident Evil est un scénario bien plus poussé, bien plus travaillé que ce que Capcom avait fait pour sa propre série !!

L’histoire ne tourne pas autour d’un vague complexe perdu dans les Rocheuses mais d’une ville entière en passe de devenir le point focal de l’avènement des Démons sur notre bonne vieille Terre…Classique me direz vous, mais cette fois (accrochez vous bien !!), ce n’est pas à Bruce Willis qu’il revient de nous sauver mais à un simple père de famille, légèrement dépressif depuis la mort de sa femme et tentant d ‘ élever au mieux sa fille…Nous sommes donc bien loin du héros type que l’on retrouve dans bon nombre de production vidèoludique de ce genre ,et c’est je crois ce qui fait la force de ce personnage qui ne cherche finalement qu’à retrouver sa fille pour pouvoir sortir de cet enfer, un homme comme vous et moi embarqué dans une « drôle » d’affaire et se retrouver confronté aux pires horreurs que puisse engendrer un esprit (in-)humain…

Une jouabilité moyenne…

Silent Hill nous propose de jouer en 3D dans un univers réalisé en 3D et malgré le niveau technologique qui à considérablement évolué,le jeu garde une certaine qualité propre qui en fait un jeu bien meilleur que certaines sous-production PS2, de plus les angles de caméras sont particuliérement bien choisis, puisqu’ils contribuent à maintenir une ambiance oppressante, une ambiance de peur larvée qui pousse les nerfs du joueurs jusque dans ses derniers retranchements et même si les commandes ne sont pas les plus instinctives, il suffit d’un quart d’heure de jeu grand maximum pour prendre l’habitude et se sentir à l’aise dans la peau de ce pauvre Harry Mason, qui à mon humble avis fait partie des persos les plus sympa que j’ai joué, ne serait-ce que pour sa dimension psychologique forte…

Un autre point important reste la présence de monstres à Silent Hill qui n’ont rien à voir avec les fades zombies de Resident Evil, ici les monstres possèdent une véritable dimension horrifique par leurs difformités, leur faculté d’attaquer dans le dos ou en harcelant le personnage sans vraiment se ruer sur le héros…Nous sommes confrontés à de véritables créatures horrifiques qui hanteront vos rêves ou plutôt vos cauchemars pendant de nombreuses nuits…et vous apprendrez à avoir peur des portes…
